When I am looking to download bars with BarsRequest I see that the data range to download is fromLocal ToLocal. Does that mean that I have to convert the time to local zone in my script for people outside the session time zone ?

Hello ,

The FromLocal represents a DateTime representing the starting date from where the data will begin.
ToLocal represents a DateTime representing the end date used in the request.

This will be in the time zone of your local PC clock (or the time zone selected in the Tools > Options window).

So it means if I want to have data starting March 1 2019 for NYMEX data ( Crude Oil ) and I am in Australia I will have to convert March 1 2019 to Australia time zone
as used that converted date in my From data ?

Yes, if your local PC is using Australian Eastern Daylight Time then any dates and times used in the script will also need to be based in (or converted to) the time zone of your PC.

By the way just to make sure that I understand what you mentioned before.
If I go to Tools --> options and I change the time zone under the time zone property will I be able to test my script on different time zone ?
Will it change time zone for my whole PC or just for Ninja Trader ?

Hello blar58,

Changing the Tools > Options > General > Preferences > Time zone setting will only set the time zone for the NinjaTrader platform, not the entire computer.

After changing the time zone all historical data must be redownloaded.
