Templates in intsallation file

I have a fib template and when it installs the template doesn't work in my indicator. when installing in the dll format. Does templates work in installs?

Thanks for your post.

Templates and other custom resources can be added in the exported file manually and they will be copied over to the appropriate templates folder.

I would suggest saving an indicator template for your custom indicator and testing to confirm the template works, and then add the contents to the zip file exported from NinjaTrader so the zip contains:

Info.xml
Your assembly and stub cs file
"templates" folder with "Indicator/YOURINDICATOR/YOURTEMPLATE.xml" included

I have attached an example export of my IchimokuCloud indicator that is exported as a DLL and has the template properly added.

thats what I thought it works in an open source platform but if I do it in a dll format it doesn't read the xml. I do manually copy in the open source and the dll

The example attached is a DLL export. The templates folder is added following the help guide and the template imports as we would expect. I may suspect a difference in names if you do not see the template listed after importing.

The stub cs file created in the export can be left as exported and should not be replaced with source code.
