Barchart Data Feed Symbol Change - S&P500

Hi -

I just thought I'd let you know that the data service Barchart.com just changed it's real time symbol for the S&P500 cash index from $INX to $SPX. Since many people may use that one, I thought I'd let you know. Barchart certainly did not inform their users, and the only way I found about it was when historical data did not load properly in Ninja. Then I had to see why this was occurring. Since Ninja uses the $INX in the pre-loaded symbol definitions, it would be great if you could change the pre-loaded symbol to $SPX.

Changing the symbol corrected the historical data download issue.

Glad to assist. To confirm, are you using the ^SP500 index as listed in NinjaTrader?

Testing on my end, I was still able to access data using the $INX mapping. Had you chart not updated at all with this mapping, or could you please let me know more about what occurred?
