Changing Font Style/Size

Is it possible to change the style (i.e. bold, italic, etc.) and the size of a font dynamically.
I have created a font and would like to change its style (bold it) and size based on a condition. Is this possible without creating a new instance of the font? Please advise. Thank you.

I kind of figured that this might be the case but I wanted to check in case there was a way to do this. Thank you for the clarification AlanP.
