    onrender questions

    what is onrender used for, when is it triggered. is it trigger on form load?

    Hello ballboy11,

    Thanks for opening the thread.

    OnRender() is used for custom drawing on a chart. It is called every time something on a chart needs to get updated. ChartControl will run a timed event every 250ms in which it should check if it needs to update a chart. If you click and drag on a chart, the chart will constantly have to be updated, so OnRender() is called significantly more during those moments.

    You can add a print to OnRender() in a simple indicator to observe the context in which is called.

    For more information, please see the OnRender() and ForceRefresh() articles of the help guide.

    ForceRefresh() - https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...rcerefresh.htm

    Additional information on Custom Rendering can be found here: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help..._rendering.htm

    Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
