How to get bounding box of chart objects

What is the procedure for getting the bounding box of chart objects?

    #2
    Hello wbennettjr,

Thank you for posting in our forum. Can you please clarify what you mean by getting the bounding box of chart objects?

To select a chart object, such as an indicator or drawing object, left click it once, and then you will see several circles on the object indicating that it is selected. To get to the properties menu of a drawing object, double click the object.

I look forward to your reply.

      Thanks Micah,

Let's say I do "var dot = Draw.Dot(...)". I want to get a Rect instance that is the bounds for that dot. Essentially the smallest rectangle that encompasses the dot or triangle or ellipse or whatever other drawing/chart object.

      Thanks,
      Wil

        Hello wbennettjr,

        Thank you for your response.

There is no property to pull the bounds of a drawing tool. You could use custom rendering to draw your dots, triangles, etc. and then draw rectangles inside them.

For information on custom rendering please visit the following link: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...s/onrender.htm

Please let me know if you have any questions.
