Is there a way to interactively update parameters for an AddOn, much like there is for an indicator?

An addon generally would be a custom tool that you created so any parameters that need updated would need to have a GUI control to change the value. If you take a look at the addon sample in the api guide that shows creating a tool with a GUI where you use GUI controls to do different tasks. That would also be the route you need to go if you wanted to update a variable yourself while the tool is running.
