Hello Is there a way to limit the amount of lots which I can trade at one time through Ninjatrader? Third party solutions or custom solutions very welcome..

If you are manually trading then no, you would have to limit yourself while trading. For custom items like Strategies you can define limits in their code and once met it can stop trading.

We cannot suggest any solutions to block trading using the platforms default manual tools but you can program scripts like strategies to trade for you in which they will observe the limits you set in code.

As mentioned our support cannot recommend anything that blocks trading or modifies how the default tools allow you to trade, if you want to use a third party tool that would be up to you.

What about a custom solution?

I have been working on a tool that makes qty selection easier, it also includes max qty option - maybe you can use the code for what you need (It may have bugs).

It creates a grid of buttons, each with increasing qty
It highlights the button corresponding to qty selected, including via build in selector
It limits maximum qty
It will reset qty to 1 when switching tabs
Each tab can have own indicator with different parameters
