Attaching Visual Studio to NT 8 caused NT 8 to crash

I'm trying to debug in NT 8 but when I attach it, NT 8 immediately goes away. Is this a known problem?

Here is the latest VS version I am using.

    Hello Taddypole,

    Thank you for your post.

There are reports of VS crashing with NinjaTrader 8.1.3.0 that our Development Team is aware of. This is discussed in this forum post:

This behavior could occur if you are using third-party protected assemblies that were exported with a version of NinjaTrader prior to 8.1.2.0 using Agile 6.6.0.35.

Are you using any third-party assemblies that could have been exported with a version of NT prior to 8.1.2.0 using Agile 6.6.0.35?

Yes, I do use 3rd party software and have done so for many years. Wheather they were exported with a version of NT prior to 8.1.2.0 using Agil.e 6.6.0.35 I couldn't tell you.

        Hello Taddypole,

Since you do have third-party assemblies installed, this would likely be the cause of the crash. As Brandon mentioned in that post, to be able to use the Visual Studio debugger, you would need to get a copy of the third-party assemblies from the vendors exported using the current version of NinjaTrader and Agile 6.9.1.2.

The Development team has informed us that this is a limitation of the upgrade to the Roslyn compiler and there are no workarounds that can be implemented.

        We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hello, is it still the case with NT8 8.1.4.2? Still no workaround to be able to attach to NT8 using Visual Studio while having some DLLs exported from older versions of NT8 / attaching visual studio debugger / crash? Any planned workaround in the future? The workaround I found - is to copy "bin" folder with cleaner version that has no 3 rd party DLLs and debug it there, and then swap it back (possible would need to clean cache folder).... Any other workaround?

When trying to debug - got error from Agile.net: A debugger has been found running in your system. Please, unload it form memory and restart your program.

After hitting OK - NT8 crashed...

          Thanks
