    Bug with "Bar Index" in DataBox window

    Hello,
    this video shows a bug with the "Bar index" field in the "Data Box" window.


    (This same error occurs when calling the "ChartBars.GetBarIdxByX" method from NinjaScript code).

    Thank you for your post.

    This is expected behavior for range bars when the market is moving very fast. The range bars will put in filler bars to fill in any gaps.

    These filler bars will have a volume of 1 because the volume cannot be 0.

      Thanks Gaby for the answer.
      Please take a time to watch the video and understand what is tried to explain. That behavior is wrong, it can never be expected. It behaves differently depending on the zoom (number of visible bars in the Chart), and then the Databox shows an erroneous BarIndex, etc. The error only occurs when only gap bars are shown in the Chart.
      The video does not deal with volumes, but of the BarIndex.​ The Databox shows the data of a different bar than the one that corresponds according to the position of the mouse.
      Anyone can verify it by loading yesterday's session of ES 06-24

        I did watch your video, and I also loaded yesterday's session of ES 06-24. However, I am not able to replicate this behavior and I am also not seeing these same 4 Range bars that you are seeing for that same date and timeframe.

        If you right-click > Reload the Historical Data on the chart, are you still seeing those range bars with 1 volume?

          Hello Gaby,
          those bars are not. My Timezone is UTC+1 (Madrid). My 14:30 pm may be your 07:30 am. It is the moment the data of the "Consumer Price Index" was published yesterday.​

            What version of NinjaTrader are you using?

            Have you right clicked to Reload the historical data?

              Hello Gaby,
              you have only lacked to make a little more zoom-in to remove one more bar on the left (as in my video).

              When the first bar on the left is a "filling" bar, the DataBox does not work. I share another video, it is basically like the first, but I hope it is clearer.​
