If I use NinjaTrader.Code.Output.Process(msg, PrintTo.OutputTab2);

will that reset the default PrintTo used by other scripts?


I am trying to separate Print output...some diagnostic output will go to PrintTo.OutputTab1, alert messages will to go PrintTo.OutputTab2.


can you verify that this statement set a global switch, that all subsequent Print() in all scriptswill go there?

PrintTo = PrintTo.OutputTab1;


also, I want to clear both Output Tabs in script...

Probably, I should do this...??

ClearOutputWindow();
PrintTo = PrintTo.OutputTab1;

Changing the PrintTo in Output.Process() will not change this property for any other script (or even for the script calling this method).

No, that code will not set a global switch, and there is not a global switch for this for all scripts. Each script would need to be set to OutputTab2 if you do not want this to print to the default OutputTab1.

Further, setting PrintTo in a strategy or indicator will only affect calls to Print() and not to Output.Process() which will use the supplied parameter.

To clear both tabs:

PrintTo = PrintTo.OutputTab1;
ClearOutputWindow();
PrintTo = PrintTo.OutputTab2;
ClearOutputWindow();
