doing backtests. years aren't showing up

i'm doing backtests from 2021 to present. and, it was appearing for some strategies i was doing. now, on some other strategies only 2/2023 to present is showing up. any clue as to why that's happening?

Do you have the historical data already downloaded or imported in the Tools -> Historical Data window?
Does the data show on the Chart display?

The NinjaTrader connection provides 1 year of historical tick data, and many years of minute and day data.
Is this a minute chart?
Who are you connected to for data?

many thanks for the reply. i'm trading on apex. so, i get data from them. i have the data in tools historical data (i attached a screenshot of it). and, i have until 2015 on the monthly chart for chart trading.

What kind of data are you trying to access? Is this minute data?

What bar type are you using?

If you click into each of the instruments downloaded in Historical Data, do you have that type of data downloaded for the instrument? For example in my screenshot you can see I have minute, day, and tick data downloaded for ES 03-24.

For monthly bars you would need to have daily data downloaded.

many thanks for the reply. i clicked on the product more and i see that i have tick, minute, day data on the most recent. then only minute data on further back. how can i get maybe 5 years of historical data on es, ym, and nq?

If you try to download data from that far back are you able to?

I am not aware of how much historical daily data Apex provides. I would reach out and inquire how much historical daily data they offer.

oh sweet. i just looked farther down on that historical data window and saw the download button. i can go back through 2020. four years is pretty good. many thanks for the replies and the guidance.
