sma crossover

i'm putting together a strategy with a sma crossover. in the strategy builder it asks for period and plots twice. do i just put the period again and the plot again in the "conditions" window. i already put it in the "data series input series" window.

In the image you provided you are doing an SMA of an SMA of the low series against an SMA of an SMA of the low series.

Did you mean to just do SMA of low with 3 period crosses SMA of low of 8 period?

The crossabove you are checking is also set to 156 bars meaning if a cross happens in the last 156 bars it would be true.

thanks for the reply. okay, sweet. i see what you are saying. i'm just doing an sma crossover sma of low 3 period cross above sma of low 8 period. i see what i did. i have it now where its correct. but, what is the look back period? do i need to have that set at a certain value?

Hello SteveReiza,

The crossovers lookback period is how many bars to check for a crossover. If you are trying to see when a crossover happens immediately as bars process you can use 1 for the lookback, that would check if there was a cross between the current bar and last bar.
