Virus Warning Message
I am having a couple clients out of close to 100 get the message below, "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software" My assembly file does not contain any viruses. I have searched on this error and cannot find anything NinjaTrader related. What is causing this on a very few clients?

es, during an import. I had one of them disable their anti virus software and it imported fine.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Jesse View PostHello mlarocco,
When specifically does the user encounter this error? is that during an import or when the platform is running? If you have any steps that you can provide that may help to know why that may be happening.

Seems to be Windows Defender, two people reported back to me. Attached is a screenshotOriginally posted by NinjaTrader_Jesse View PostHello mlarocco,
Would you be able to ask the user which anti virus they are using so that I can make a note about that? There is no information as to why that message would appear in the platform so it would be helpful to know the specifics about the users setup.

Hello mlarocco,
Thanks for providing that.
If possible could you provide an open source script which triggers this warning on the users machine? If you have another user that gets this message it would be helpful to try to better understand what code is being used when that gets triggered so we can have that documented. Depending on the users windows defender settings that warning might be expected however the warning inside NinjaTrader would not be expected for an import error. If an item cannot be imported you would generally just get the generic warning about the file cannot be imported.

Hello Chaos05,
It would not be suggested to add a exclusion to the NinjaTrader 8 folder. As mentioned earlier in this thread this is not a normal message that NinjaTrader would produce so we would need to have an example of what file or code is causing that to happen so we can gather more details of why that is happening. By adding an exclusion for NinjaTrader you are opening up your PC to threats because you are importing third party files that could potentially be harmful. By leaving windows defender alone you can mitigate those threats. NinjaTrader executes the files you import so it would be good to have harmful items flagged and removed.
