    SendMail() Slow

    When I sent an email from a strategy using SendMail() to an MMS account and it took four minutes to be delivered, I assumed the problem was my carrier.

    But then I used SendMail() to send a message to my regular email account, and it took four minutes as well. So this is probably on NinjaTrader's end. Can this be sped up? Otherwise, what's the point?

    Thank you for your post.

    There is no way to speed up or slow down when a message is received from a call to SendMail(). You could test out different email account providers in your Share Service settings to see if you get different results, as maybe the four-minute delivery length has to do with the originating email address sending the message rather than where the message is being sent to:
    SendMail() uses whichever email service is set as "Default" in the Control Center > Tools > Options > General > Share Service settings:


    If you have email accounts with multiple providers, you could attempt changing the "Default" email share service and experiment with how this affects SendMail(). Ultimately, this is up to the providers sending and receiving the messages and the length of time for a message to be sent/arrive is not dictated by NinjaTrader.

      Well. I deleted my share services mail definition and recreated it. Same setting, Sign in with Google, and now the emails and texts are coming immediately. Not sure what was different, but thanks for your help.

        Hi, I see you already use SendMail, I am trying to use SendMail but I cant receive the email test, this is how looks the share service (the email is a example but I use hotmail.com)

            Hi, I dont find the other message to reply you, where you told me that I need to use Manual and smtp.live.com

              Hello FaaZer,

              I decided to test those smtp settings we have on that forum post and found this was not working. I've deleted that post and reported the issue to our development.

                      For now you will need to use gmail until our developers have had a chance to update the authentication and release a new release of ninjatrader.
