Weeks not to trade (US Holiday?)

    Hello,

i coded my rules in a strategy and i have great results. But in the week of "Independece Day" the strategy failed from 04.07 until 10.07 completly .
When i play back the week, then i see that we have no direction in the market... 5 points up down and so on.

Can anyone say me what weeks in US the most Institutions/traders are not online?

Whats going on in the week of Thanksgiving or Veterans Day or Colombus Day? Take the people a break and sitting at home? ^^

    Best regards

    Hello Dirales,

    Thank you for your note.

So I may assist you more accurately, please answer all of the following questions:
    • What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.?.?.?)
    • Do you see similar results when running the same test on the SampleMaCrossOver strategy for the same date range with the same settings as your strategy?
    • Who are you connected to for data? This is displayed in green in the lower-left corner of the Control Center window.
      • It sounds like you are using the Playback connection, correct?
    • What instrument(s) (and expiry if applicable) have you selected?
    • What Data Series Type have you selected? Example: Tick, Minute, Day
    • What From and To date is selected?
    • Is your strategy a multi-instrument or multi-time frame strategy?
    • Do you receive an error on the screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?
Thanks in advance; I look forward to further investigating this item.

FWIW, I have created a .csv file of all US Federal (Bank) Holidays up to 2030. I use it in one of my indicators to allow the study to effectively ignore that day. I have attached the file to this post.

I have code for reading/date testing the file, but will noy post unless requested.

      Good luck!
