Direction to Help Automate Licensing Process

I'm working with a company who has developed an Indicator for NinjaTrader and is ready to deploy it live.

However, the last piece of the puzzle is the licensing aspect of it.

To the best of what I can tell, through reading the documentation, NinjaTrader doesn't provide an support for an API that would allow us to accept a payment on our website and automatically provision a license for that user. This appears to be a manual process.

My inclination is that we should be able to:

1. Create a shopping cart / subscription service
2. Allow a user to check-out and process payment
3. Request the Machine ID at the point of payment (as a custom secure field)
4. Apply an active license to the Machine ID automatically

We already have a functional website on Wordpress and have the capacity to write the code, but are just looking for a bit of guidance.

Has anyone had success in doing this?
Or are we wasting our time by attempting it?

Surely, not everyone is manually adding licenses?
