Programmatically change instrument

Is there a supported or unsupported method to programmatically change the instrument on a NinjaTrader 8 Desktop chart and cause the chart to be reloaded/refreshed, without pushing keys to the chart?

Hello Bruce, thanks for writing in. There is no supported way to change the chart primary instrument through code, you would need to use SendKeys() from the .NET library. The same question was asked here with some more details and an example:

Hi, I have an indicator that saves chart data to MySql. Is there a way to change the instrument displayed on a chart using code? Is there a better way to gather OHLC data for various instruments than cycling through charts? Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Ian
