How to stop ninjascript files from opening in the editor?
Sometimes when I restart ninja or when I import ninjascript, files will load themselves in the editor. This has happened for years across multiple computers so it feels like it might be a known issue with some sort of best practice associated with it so I figured it was worthwhile to ask if anyone know how to stop this behavior?Tags: None

In both NT7 and NT8?
That sounds odd.
I've never had that happen.
That behavior seems abnormal to me.
I have no idea how to stop it.

Have you used a Windows file association?
On my computers I tell Windows to associate
file extension '.cs' with my favorite text editor,
which is 'gvim'.
If you have Visual Studio installed, it will want to
associate the '.cs' file extension with itself.
I have imported .zip files plenty of times, but I
have never had the NinjaScript Editor (or gvim,
or Visual Studio) open up unexpectedly and show
me a '.cs' file, which I assume, was just imported
from the .zip file.
I mean, an import error just produces a popup
error message, right? But I digress.

Anyways, maybe I'm missing something on my side,
but I have never seen the behavior you describe.
For what purpose is NinjaTrader opening the '.cs'
file in the NinjaScript Editor?
Does it open a random NinjaScript file?
Do you get an error message?
Any log messages in the Log tab?Last edited by bltdavid; 02-25-2023, 12:36 PM.

I recorded a video of the behavior before making this post, but rather than post it and share PII I opted for replying to each question this way.
