is Visual Studio the best IDE for ninjascript?

Hi, I am brand new to ninjatrader, but not new to trading or coding. I want to begin learning ninjascipt by modifying pre-existing scripts. If I start with a script ending in '.cs', is visual studio the best platform to work with?

Generally yes.. for light fast non-dll work the built in NinjaScript Editor, which is a stripped down OEM version of Visual Studio.

For more serious development and debug Visual Studio 2022 is a really the only other choice.

hedgeplay is correct. Typically the NinjaScript Editor window would be used for creating custom NinjaScripts.

The other supported IDE with more development/debugging options would be Visual Studio.
