draw a vertical segment equal to a horizontal one

How can I draw a vertical segment on my NT8, whose length is equal to a horizontal segment? I want to draw a vertical segment B = a horizontal segment A. While I turn around B, it will change its length after I copy and paste A to get B, and trying to get a vertical B.

    Hello liutradeone,

    Thank you for your post.

I do not fully understand the use of your segments. When using the system drawing tools, the tools are anchored by Price (vertical y-axis) and Time (horizontal x-axis). Even if you were to get a horizontal line segment and a vertical line segment drawn that both appear to be the same length, if the date or price scale is adjusted then one of the lines would be streched/compressed to a different length.

What are you looking to achieve with the two drawings and what would their purpose be? If I am able to understand more of what you are looking for and why, I might be able to offer a suggestion to help you get to that outcome.

I look forward to your reply.

A segment is the line I draw from bar at 1 to bar at 2, which gives me how long it is from bar-1 to bar-2. Based on its length (which is time on the x-axis), I want an equal length segment B from high of bar 2, and see how far it can go down to the price, which is on the y-axis.

        Hello liutradeone,

        Thank you for your reply.

Lines have anchor points for start time, end time, start y, and end y. There is no way to translate the length horizontally between start time and end time into a length vertically between start y and end y. I have created a quick video demonstration:

If you use units as segments of a line, one bar = one horizontal unit and one tick = one vertical unit, you would need to square up your chart to see identical lengths. Even then, one tick per bar may not be enough for you, so you might need to use a multiplier such as one bar = ten ticks. Again you would need to square up your chart with the multiplier to visually see equal length lines.
