I know this is an old thread but does this also work with Ninjatrader 8? Recently i formatted my old pc but forgot to make a backup file with Ninjatrader. However i did backup my document map with the ninjatrader 8 map in it. So i have a bunch of CS files from strategies i build with Strategy Builder. Is there a way to get these on my fresh Ninjatrader 8 install?Tags: None

As your inquiry is not for NinjaTrader 7 and is for NinjaTrader 8, I have moved your inquiry from the original thread to the NinjaTrader 8 section of the forums.
Note, you can link a forum thread from a new thread if you would like to refer to it.
We recommend that you create backups, and/or export files that can be re-imported, and we typically never recommend manually modifying the filesystem, as this typically will lead to compile errors.
That said, yes, you can place NinjaScript Strategy .cs files in the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Strategies folder.Chelsea B.NinjaTrader Customer Service

If the Strategy opens in the Strategy Builder then it's in NinjaTrader. Have you compiled?

Hello Bert1995,
It means there is a compile error, which will be appearing at the bottom of the NinjaScript Editor.
As stated in post # 2, our team does not advise manually adding or removing files from the file system, as this will typically cause compile errors.
Compile in the NinjaScript Editor, then copy and paste the error message (Ctrl + c to copy, Ctrl + v to paste).
