How to skip logging orders to database file
I would like to stop writing order logs into database, as its .sdf file keeps growing so fast. I need only execution trades to store in database for Trade Performance report. How can I customize what type of log to store in database?Tags: None

Hello excelxp,
Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately, there are no documented or supported means for preventing certain order logs from being written into the database.
That said, we are tracking interest in this in an internal ticket and I have added your vote. The internal tracking number for your feature request is SFT-5444. Please reference this internal tracking number when contacting Platform Support if you ever have questions regarding this feature request.
When a feature request is implemented, you'll find a description of the new feature in the release notes:Let us know if we may assist further.Brandon H.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hi Brandon,
Thank you for your response. Database file causes many issues at my end when I run many strategies at the same times for a long period. When the .sdf file becomes bigger, then it's possible to hang up NT8 suddenly.
By limiting what types of logs to be stored to database as options, it will prevent database file to increase its size so fast, and update so frequently in SqlServerCe queries. It will store only transactions needed to display the Trade Performance report if we just want it.

Being able to turn Order/Execution logging in the db file on/off for specific Accounts (Sim particularly, but also others) would be helpful. My +1 please.
I also think that being able to Optimise the db file would be good. There are already options to Repair and Reset the db; another to optimise it would be useful too.
Thanks.
