Playing 2 different chart

Hi
this might be stupid but, can you put up 2 different strategies on 2 different chart and play same 1 nq each? Would that interfere with each other. I know you can do 1nq and 10 mnq. And they can go againt each other.

Thanks for your post.

If I understand correctly you would apply two different strategies to the same instrument (on two different charts) and use the same account.

This would not be recommended because even though the strategies are on different charts they are operating on the same instrument and same account.

There can only be one account position on the instrument so each strategy would be changing the account position as they executed their logic. Each strategy will maintain its own virtual position regardless of the account position so it will continue processing its logic, however, the strategies will be in and out of sync with the account position.

For example, strategy A goes long and puts a profit target and stop-loss order in place. If strategy B enters short and places its stop and profit target, by going short the account position will be flat and now there are two different profit targets and two different stops and these remain as live orders so when price hits any of the 4 a new live account position will exit.
