What does "last" tick price mean when set tick-by-tick series?

afaik, last prices can be designed to time-based bars. Can you explain, what does NT engine do, when we open chart with 1-tick data, but type set to "Last". As, the trade can be either to BID or ASK (feeded from datafeed provider, each trade has either bid or ask mark), what does NT's LAST mode do in that case?

If the Tick Data Series you are using has a 'Price based on' setting of 'Last' then this refers to the Last price that the market is trading which could be either the Bid or Ask. The 'Last' price is also known as the market price.

so, to say in other words, (i dont mean specifically realtime behavior),but when setting up 1-day chart of 1-tick data (based on "last") it means that NT will show both bids & asks data (combined). i.e. if datafeed provided 100 items data of BID, and 150 ASK data, then NT's "last" price based chart will show 250 items on chart. that simple, right?

That is correct. 'Last' price-based charts would contain/show the Ask and Bid prices combined as you have described.
