    VOLMA Syntax Clarification

    Hi there,

    I'm attempting to use VOLMA in my scripts but it's not working. I'm using:

    double Volume_Short = VOLMA(50);
    double Volume_Long = VOLMA(100);

    And the editor is coming back with:
    An object reference is required for non-static field, method or property....

    What's wrong with my syntax here?

    Hello Spiderbird,

    Thanks for your post.

    The statements are trying to assign the entire series of VOLMA() into a single double.

    Please add a barsAgo index to pull the specific bars VOLMA value, like this: double Volume_Short = VOLMA(50)[0];

      Hi Paul!

      Thanks for that guidance. It worked, but I also discovered that I needed to place those defintions in the OnBarUpdate area:

      Code:
      protected override void OnBarUpdate()
      {

      double Volume_Short = VOLMA(50)[0];
      double Volume_Long = VOLMA(100)[0];
      Before, I was declaring them in the OnStateChange area, which was causing errors even if I had added the [0] component.
