BarsRequest using historical data only for a custom instrument

Hello,

I am using a BarsRequest method successfully on default instruments that are mapped to my data provider. I have a custom instrument that uses historical data only that I woud also like to use the same method on however it does not return any bars. I assume it is beause BarsRequest is requesting the bars directly from live data provider rather than going to my hisotrical data bank first. As the instrument does not exist at the data provider, the BarsRequest method returns nothing.

How can I get the BarsRequest method to request historical data for a custom instrument only.

Apologies, I;ve just realised the Lookup policy option. Haven't tested yet but my guess is that that should do the trick.

LookupPolicy

The lookup policies for the bars request. Possible Values are: •Provider - Queries the provider. The repository is updated on provider's reply •Repository - Looks up the local repository only

Hi b16_aln, thanks for your post.

I tested a custom instrument and setting LookupPolicy to Repository did pull the custom instrument from the database.

I attached the test script for reference.
