Creating a Hidden Bar Type

I have created a new bar type that I use as a secondary series in several indicators and strategies. As a result, I need to include the bar type when I export the indicators and strategies so they will function properly. However, I do not want the end users to be able to create charts using my new bar type. Is there any way of hiding my custom bar type so that it is not an option when creating a new chart?

Hello SystemTrading, thanks for writing in.

There would be no way to exclude the custom bar type since the bar type needs to be compiled into NinjaTrader.Custom.dll along with all the other bar types. You would need to sell the bar type along with your indicator since the user will be able to see the bar type in the Type list of the data series window.

Just curious, you can already add a secondary series in an indicator in NT8 without your bar type. Why do you need your custom hidden bar type to include a secondary series in an indicator?

I was hoping to use the hidden bar type as a secondary series, not use a secondary series in the hidden bar type.

Sorry for miscommunication. I guess, based on above quote, my point is you can add a secondary series in indicators without the need for your hidden bar type.
