Latest NT8 installed. Question about .NET version - Script DLL refs show .NET4.0.3 ?

Platform Win10, NT8.0.22.2

I know NT requires .NET v4.5 or above. On a prev Win7 install I was successfully using NT with .NET 4.8
On Win10 I remember NOT being asked to install .NET, so I assumed it was preinstalled.
Should I be manually installing a newer .NET (4.8)?
I have just compiled the Ninja.WebSockets DLL, linking to .NET Framework 4.5.2. Not using it yet.

Also a question for NT staff re the future of .NET.
I know the FrameWork branch of .NET is totally seperate from the .NET Core / .NET Standard. Core & Standard are being combined into .NET 5 apparently.
FrameWork 4.8 is apparently the last major version of FrameWork.
Will .NET 5 include FrameWork libs, if so, NinjaTrader will probably need to migrate/use .NET 5 instead?

The current release of NT8 8.0.23.0 has migrated to .NET 4.8 https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...8/8_0_23_0.htm

You would want to install .net 4.8 and if using visual studio go ahead and install the tools for that when prompted.

Going forward 4.8 will be used so you can safely upgrade any external projects to that or continue using what you have working.

I would be unable to say if any other version of the .net platform would be used, that would be up to development and their future goals. Nothing has been provide this far about changing to any other .net platforms.

Are there any plans to migrate NT8 to the .Net6 or later by any chance? There are a few new classes that I would love to use including TimeOnly.

There is currently nothing public stating that the platform would be migrated to .net 6, if development chooses to go that direction then it will be listed in the change log if that happens.
