Alright, VS is back to working correctly.
My error has been to grab files from the Source Control Explorer by double clicking them to both check them out and open them in an editor. However this leaves them disconnected from the NinjaTrader project.
If they are opened to edit from the project editing them is just like doing it Ninja's editor.
This is few clicks, but worth it.
I'll also believe including the project and solution files in my Source Control repository and checking them out as well as the specific module I'm working may also work.
Now that I know I can edit again in VS with it being aware of the NT classes, I'm good.
