SetStopLoss() using Indicator
Say I wanted to have a stop loss attach to an order that is based upon the ATR when the order filled. How would I go about this? I have tried using SetStopLoss(CalculationMode.Ticks, ATR(20)/TickSize), however it says that I cannot convert to type double. Thanks!Tags: None

Hello robertmaierle,
Thanks for writing in today.
I would like to provide you instructions on how to set this up, but I need some clarification on how you would like to set your stop loss.
The ATR indicator will return a small number and will vary between instruments. Do you wish to divide the ATR value by the Tick Size to get a number of ticks where you wish to place the stop loss?
For example on the ES 03-17, an ATR value maybe 0.951, and the Tick Size is 0.25. Do you wish to place your Stop Loss 3.8 ticks below the entry price in this example? (0.951 / 0.25 = 3.804)
If you wish to use the equation above to assign your stop loss, we must unlock your code to add in the proper math.
We could also round the value to use the closest full tick using the Round2TickSize method.
You can reference this method's usage here: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...trument_ro.htm
Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
