    Understanding SetTrailStop

    When I use the SetTrailStop method while trading forex, for example:

    SetTrailStop(CalculationMode.Ticks, 12);

    It means the stop loss will trail 12 ticks. My question is, from which price it trails? the current ask, the current bid, Close[0] or any other price?

    Thanks

    Hello kiss987,

    Thank you for your post.

    A Trail Stop to Sell would trail the Bid price, and a Trail Stop to BuyToCover would trail the Ask price. Another way to say this would be the Trail Stop trails the Bid price when you are Long and the Trail Stop trails the Ask price when you are Short.

    Please let me know if you have any questions.
