Orders Ask or Bid

When I submit an order such as limit or stop (using EnterLongLimit or EnterLongStopLimit, for eample) while trading foreX, does the order price refers to the Ask, the Bid or it depends if I'm buying or selling?

Thank you for your post.

In general, you buy to the ask and sell to the bid. However, you can submit limit and stop orders to levels that are not at the bid or ask. So it depends on whether you are buying or selling, what order type you are using, and where the bid and ask prices are (as Forex has a spread between bid and ask that can be large).

For example, if you wish to submit an EnterLongLimit() you would want to ensure the limit price is at or below the Bid price level.

You can use GetCurrentBid() and GetCurrentAsk() in real-time data to get their current values. Follow the links below for more information.

I wan to make sure I undersand:
When I submit a EnterLongStop order with a specific stop value, it means that that the position will be filled when the Ask (and not the bid) will reach that price and when I submit EnterShortStop the position will be filled when the Bid (and not the Ask) will reach that price.
