Set Interactive Brokers 'Order Ref.' field from NT

Hello,

I use Interactive Brokers and have different strategies working simultaneously from Ninjatrader, plus also live trading sometimes. Now, in order to make accounting easier I would like to be able to somehow pass the order name or at least the strategy name to IB. The goal is this:
- suppose today I have traded 120 AAPL during all the day, 20 from Strategy1, 70 from Strategy2 and 30 by myself
- if I take a look at the list of trades IB gives I cannot know if a certain trade came from Strategy1, Strategy2 or by myself
- so, if I could tell IB from NT that a certain trade came from, say, Strategy1, I could then sepparate all trades by strategy

Note that the answer is NOT 'why don't you use simply the list NT does?'. The reason is because it does not reflect correctly the commissions and the time and Order ID displayed in NT do not exactly match the time and order ID in IB, so there is no way to match them automatically.

Thank you for your post.

There are no means to pass details such as a string of the strategy name or order name to the TWS API. The API sees the information as orders in their basic form directly from NinjaTrader.
