is it possible to entry a trade manually (either via ninja trader or third party such as IB)
then enable a strategy to manage the position (profit target and ongoing stop placement) once you have a position.

Thank you for the question.

If you already have the strategy running, there would not really be any supported or documented ways to see the manual order and use that as a strategy order.

Regarding if you have a position and then enable the strategy, there are account sync options but for NT7 it would need to match what the strategy would have done. For example if you had placed a manual trade and then enabled the strategy, it would need to also have the same thought and place the same trade to assume that position.

In NT8, there are more sync options but in general with both platforms there is not a specific way to have a strategy fully adapt to manual actions in the middle of its trading. The purpose of an automated strategy is largely to alleviate this responsibility from you so this is not really a feature of strategies to start with.
