Betterrenko bars

Using Renko Bars (or Betterrenko) in a strategy where the starting date is not the same leads to different charts pictures and therefore results if my understanding of Renko is correct. The starting point affects the chart picture.

When setting up a strategy in NT you can choose on how many days back the strategy starts. Every day this is moving into the future 1 day.

How to deal with this?

The Days to load value is set with the Data Series window -> Data -> Days to load on the chart, or in the New Strategy window -> Time Frame -> Days to load when adding a strategy instance.

This setting will control the number of days that are loaded with any script added to the chart or a strategy when added to the Control Center Strategies tab.

It will not be possible to load a different number of days than what is in this setting.

Thanks Chelsea! Taking into account your response it would mean that each day another starting point is taken when using renko bars. Please confirm.

Yes, in NinjaTrader 7, all bar types will have a new starting point on a new session. This is not specific to the Renko bars.

Something to keep in mind is that tick based bars such as Renko bars also have a new starting point the moment you open a chart. So any two charts opened after the start of a session will not be the same if they are receiving real-time data. If they are opened before the start of the session they will be the same.
