SampleStrategyPlot

Hallo again.

I am getting more and more fustrated. I download the
SampleStrategyPlot and my plots are empty!!!!!!

Any help?

Try this:
- open a chart with 1 minute data on any instrument
- make sure you see more than 100 bars
- connect to sim feed
- load the SampleStrategyPlot
- do you see something on chart?

Also: What's in your logs?

Thank you for writing in.

Once you have added the strategy to your chart, have you ensured that it has been enabled?

Can you please provide a screenshot of your chart and the Control Center?

To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.

Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

Thanks for early reply.

You are right, when enabling strategy, plots appears on chart. The problem is that I am interested to show it in Strategy Analizer for backtesting / optimize / wfw.
Is there any solution to show this data in strategy historical chart?

Hello Alvaro,

Per the note on the reference sample page for this particular strategy (http://ninjatrader.com/support/forum...d.php?t=6651): This technique has limited functionality. It will NOT work for charts in the Strategy Analyzer during backtesting, but it will work on real-time charts.

If you wish to backtest a strategy with an indicator plotting values, the indicator must be doing the calculations rather than the strategy calculating and then passing the values to the indicator with .Set(). You can then use the Add() method call in the Initialize() method of your strategy for the purpose of displaying said indicator to the chart.
