When does re-compiled strategy take effect

I am running a strategy in text using real time demo feed.

I have the strategy attached to a chart and then change it in the editor. After a change I re-compile it.

Do I need to detach the strategy from the chart and then re-attach it for the change to be effected - or does the strategy (that is already attached to a chart) automatically change when I recompile?
