I am getting horrible performance at the moment from NT and am trying to localize the issue. Part of the reason is the strategy Im running but even when I have nothing running am no connection Im seeing NT using c. 420MB Memory, is this normal, seems high?

420MB of memory is not high for NinjaTrader. When you start approaching 1GB this is starting to become a bit much.
However, the processor being maxed out will be why NinjaTrader is sluggish.
There is has been considerable market activity in the last few days resulting in a large amount of ticks from the market. This high amount of information processing can cause performance issues.
Below I am including a link to a forum thread with suggestions of ways to reduce the amount of demand on your computer's CPU core that NinjaTrader is running on.
