Enter with ATM, Exit with NinjaScript

I found this in NinjaTrader Help:

There is a clear line between a NinjaScript Strategy and an ATM Strategy. The use model for creating an ATM Strategy within a NinjaScript Strategy is when you want to programmatically monitor and generate an entry signal and then manually manage the resulting open position via an ATM Strategy in one of NinjaTrader's order entry windows.

Is it possible to do the opposite?

1. The trader would submit an entry order manually
2. The NinjaScript strategy would monitor account position and profit targets (set with ATM strategy) and would submit exit orders based on value of a custom NinjaScript indicator
3. The NinjaScript strategy would work with predefined order quantities that could be smaller than order quantities of the entry orders. Later the trader could close any open positions manually.

Thank you for the question.

The inverse of what the help guide specifies would not be possible regarding the way these strategies work.

The Entry has to be submitted from the strategy in order to generate the ATM, also there is no way for the strategy to monitor the account for manual entries.

Using ATM strategies from NinjaScript basically needs to be like the Example that is provided with NinjaTrader in order to work correctly. Additionally these can not be combined with Managed/Unmanaged orders.
