Multiple Strategys running

If you need to update code can you press F5 while the strategy is running so that it reads the new updated code?

Thanks for posting today.

Yes, it is possible to run several strategies on the same instrument and data series.

• From a chart with the chart trader closed right mouse click and select Strategies... or left mouse click on the Strategies button at the top of the chart (dollar symbol on paper icon).
• Double left mouse click on a strategy you would like to add.
• Double left mouse click on another strategy you would like to add.

You now will be running two strategies on the same data series from with in one chart while using your simulation account to forward test.

So it wont work from the strategies tab? The reason is I want to add my entire instrument list and its easier to add it all at once from strategies tab.

Thanks for the reply and clarification.

Pressing F5 will disable the strategy, apply the changes to the code, and then re-enable the strategy with the new code. This will create a new strategy and not simply continue running the strategy as it has to be stopped then restarted.

To answer your other question, yes, you can use the strategies tab to enable entire instruments list.

• From inside the strategies tab right mouse click>New Strategy...
• Locate Data Series>Instrument(s) and left mouse to select the instrument. Left mouse click on the down arrow to open the instruments selection menu.
• Select Instrument List and then select the instrument list you wish to use.
• Set the account to a sim account you wish to use for forward testing
• Left mouse click OK to close the New Strategy menu
• Left mouse click the top instrument in the list and then holding the CTRL key left mouse click to select the instrument you wish to enable this strategy on
• Right mouse click on one of the selected instruments
• Left mouse click enable

These steps will enable the strategies on the selected instruments all at once. To add another strategy simply follow the same steps as above but with the other strategy that you want to enable.
