I understand that the Hot Key functionality is disabled when a strategy is enabled. If I develop another app outside of the NT platform and employ no strategy in NT, can my app be coded to use the Hot Keys to execute trades?

Hello rcollen,
Thanks for your post.
While I do not think that would work, you can use unsupported methods to set your own hot keys from the strategies code.
This is not supported by NinjaTrader to do but may accomplish your goal.

ChelseaB,
Thanks for your reply. You are most generous to point me in a direction that may be unsupported by NT. I am a lifetime user of the platform, but need to find a way of executing trades based on another project.
Please clarify a little more what you are suggesting by unsupported methods to set hot keys from NT strategies code. Do you mean my app would be linked into a NT strategy? I do not understand.
