Outage and Marked to Market

How does the outage affect strategy and the marked to market(settlement procedure),when trading without margin?

Are you asking what happens during a Flash Freeze as defined by Investopedia?

Your strategy will keep running and will just wait for data. No trades will be made until data is received.

The Mark to Market (the changing of your fill point due to settlements) question should be directed to your broker.

As for trading without margin, I'm not sure this is possible. Again I recommend that you contact your broker and ask these questions.

Hi Chelsea,by outage i meant electricity or internet outage.As Ninjatrader became a brokerage,i heard that the orders would be resting on their server now.So the outage shouldn`t be an issue in this case.Am i correct?

Any order sent to a live broker will rest on that brokers server.
If NinjaTrader is shut down, any live order working on the brokers server will remain working.

This is not the case to Sim101 orders as these rest on your local computer.

It was just emphasized in the BigMike webinar by the NT CEO that from NOW ON the strategy orders will be resting on the server,so i thought it wasn`t the case in the past.

Are we certain we are talking about the same thing?

NinjaTrader does now have a brokerage side.

However, only live orders placed to the NinjaTrader Brokerage will be resting on the NinjaTrader Brokerage server.

Orders placed to the Sim101 will not leave your computer and do not sit on the brokers server.

This is true no matter who your broker is.
