Strategy Execution and Chart Assignment

Hello,



When I execute a strategy I will open a chart and assign a strategy to it. I then will monitor the strategy using NT control center – strategies tab.

My question is why does my strategy still listed as “enabled” in the NT control center – strategies tab, even after I close the chart that it was assigned to ?

Does this mean that the strategy is still executing against an asset even though I’ve closed the chart the I originally used to assign the strategy ?

Lucius, I would not expect that if it was started from the chart, are you sure it is still actively enabled and not just listed in the tab? Right click in the strategies tab please and select Filter Only Active Strategies > would it now still show?

Yes it does still list in the control center and its still appears to be actively enabled even after applying the filter.

I've upload a 3 screen scrapes. Capture 01 with the chart and strategy listed in the control center and the Capture 02 is the control center after I closed the chart.

If I click "enabled" on the strategy line in the control center, the strategy will disappear from the strategies tab list.

Maybe this makes a difference to NT on strategy execution but, Capture 03 shows how the strategy is designed to execute using Tick data so CalculateOnBarClose = false; and I test using Replay data.

Thanks, looks like there's custom control for the strategy used, I'm wondering if that could perhaps override some of NT's default mechanism's. If you test for example our SampleMACrossover on the same setup, would it behave differently?

Yes it is a custom strategy but I get the exact same behavior when I run SampleMACrossover on YM 09-14 in replay mode

Do you need me to give you screen scrapes of it ?
