Using Sim101 for backtesting
I would like to use an account in Ninjatrader for back testing purposes. When I run a regular Strategy Analyzer it back tests every symbol and invests every time my strategy is triggered. I would like to have a more realistic back test because this won't actually happen in the live market, the triggers will be restricted to if I actually have the funds available to invest. I do have a NT license so I was wondering if there is a way for me to backtest my strategy connected to an account in NT.

Hello milemke08,
Thank you for your post.
In backtesting you would need to create your own method for tracking an 'account balance' in your strategy. Such as a variable that updates based on the PnL of your strategy.
You can find information on PnL for your strategy at the following links:- Realized PnL: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h.../cumprofit.htm
- Unrealized PnL: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...profitloss.htm
Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
