Is ATM position closed?

I am executing an ATM strategy from a strategy. What is the definitive way to determine when my position is closed? When I run the strategy, and don't touch the stop/target manually, the strategy works fine. but, if I cancel the stop/target manually, then the ATM methods no longer can track the open position. if I cancelled the target/stop orders during the trade:

userGetAtmStrategyEntryOrderStatus still says 'Filled' after the trade exits GetAtmStrategyMarketPosition still says 'Long' after trade exits, GetAtmStrategyStopTargetOrderStatus still says 'Working'.

Shouldn't these methods return nulls if the ATM goes away? Is this expected behavior? Or is the answer 'Don't do that' ???

Don't do that!

Its expected since its the last state of the terminated strategy. What you could try is checking the status of all stop and target orders, if they are cancelled maybe that could signal that you terminated the strategy?
