    Backtest ES from Jan 2014 to Apr 2014

    I keep getting the error:

    Error on loading chart data for 'ES 03-14 Globex': Unable to load historical data: unknown instrument



    Please advice!

    Hello newworldguy,

    What version of NinjaTrader are you using? You can check under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X)

    What instrument and interval have you selected when you are running your backtest?

      I am using NT v 7 1000.22.

      I am using the contract ES-06-14 for a period Jan 1, 2014 to April 29, 2014

        Hello newworldguy,

        Are you selecting a "Minute" type for your interval or something else like "Day"?

        Also, who are you connected to? This is displayed by green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

          I am using the minute type and am connected to kinetick.

            Hello newworldguy,

            Sounds like there is something wrong with the instrument mapping. Can you try to reset all of your default instruments by following the steps below.

            * Disconnect for all data providers
            * Go to the Control Center -> Tools.
            * Inside the Options window select the Data tab
            * Press the Reset Instruments button
            * Restart NinjaTrader
            * Note: Any changes made to original instruments settings will be reset.

            Let me know if you get that message again.

              I did that but I continue to get the same message regarding ES-03-14 contract that I sent you earlier.

                Hello newworldguy,

                Can you send your Log and Traces to "Support [at] NinjaTrader [dot] com" so that I can look into this further? Put "ATTN: JC" in the Subject and reference to this thread in the body.

                You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
                The log file will be named "log.YYYYMMDD.txt"

                You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
                The trace file will be named "trace.YYYYMMDD.txt"
