i have done sma cross over strategy.
this strategy when applied on the chart,shows arrows at the bottom of the page.
i wish to have signal arrows on the bars and not at the bottom.
pl help me execute.

This is likely b/c it's applying your arrows at zero (0) price, you need to tell it WHERE on the bar to attach the arrow.. Do you want the arrow at the open, high, low or close. Sounds like in your case you chose none, so it's putting the arrow at zero price.

JDog is correct here, you will need to set the y value to a price value close to the bars. Such as Close, Open, High or Low. Please refer to the attached screenshot of a Down Arrow on the Low of the bar in the Strategy Wizard.

if i want to buy when sma 40 is rising and sell when sma 40 is falling.
how to code the same?
