Why does Market Replay slow down?

Hi:

Why does Market Replay always slow down after running it on the same days after a few times?

How can this be prevented?

How can I speed it back up like I would use it for the first time on a particular day?

I only have about 1 week +/- of replay days in the folder.

I usually initially run it and it is very fast and smooth. However, after running it several times on those days it freezes, locks up, or slows to a crawl with running or when changing dates and times to begin.

This gets kindof frustrating. Sorry.

Please let me know what I need to do to ensure the market replay data runs properly everytime.

Each instance of the strategy is held in memory, you will need to restart NinjaTrader after changing your code and compiling. Generally this will not be a concern unless there are several changes made.

Ok...so, it is not enough to disconnect and reconnect NT Market Replay? I have to full close and restart the entire NT?

Just making sure...

Any improvements in general on this with NT 8?

Oh...Patrick...I just replied in my last post to you. However, had one more item...

Should I keep the Market Replay amount of days down to a minimum or does it matter how many days I have...I just want to avoid slowdowns as much as possible...

Do you have a best practices link for making sure market replay runs optimally?

There is a post within the last 1.5 years regarding this issues.

Overtrading slows things down, and depending on machine capabilities - will crash the system. My 2006 XP desktop tanked a lot sooner than a modern machine.

You will actually need to restart NinjaTrader. We are looking to improve upon on the strategy analyzer in the next major release of NinjaTrader.

The link providing by Sledge here is a great reference for Market Replay and improving performance. Limiting the amount of days may improve the performance as well but should not be necessary in all instances.
