    New strategy right click no save option

    I am running WIN8. When I go to Strategies: right click new strategy, eventually a window comes up and I am able to select a strategy script. However once this is loaded in the window and I configure it I am not able to right click and save settings for future instances. However, I am able to do so on other computers running WINXP, WIN7 etc.

    People have said it is a .NET issue, but under WIN8 there are no options to select which version of .NET to use, basically they are built into the OS.

    Any help with the ability to right click and save configuration for strategies would be greatly appreciated as each time I have to reconfigure. Thanks in advance.

    Hello EthanHunt,

    Since Windows 8 has .NET 4.5 built into the operating system you will have to remove the .NET framework from the Window Features and then add it back again to repair it.

    To do this go to the Control Panel -> Program and Features -> Uninstall a Program -> select "Turn Windows features on or off" in the left panel.

    Here a good reference link that goes over this as well that you may view.
    Learn how to install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 10 and Windows Server. .NET Framework 3.5 can run apps that target .NET Framework 1.0 through 3.5.


    Note that you may have to uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader after this is done.

      Thanks, I followed your instructions (uninstall .NET 4.5 and 3.5, uninstalled NT, reinstalled etc.) but still have the same issue.

        Could you send me your log and trace files for today so that I may look into what occurred.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Support.

          JC solved the problem! I had a bad .cs file in my strategies unknown to me. He checked my log/trace files and TEST.cs showed up as bad. I removed TEST.cs from my strategies, compiled and now I can save default settings. THANK YOU SO MUCH! This has been on my annoyance list for over a year!
